Your experience is good and having leadership in the engineering field will help differentiate you in the technology-heavy Indian applicant pool, but with ivy league schools and other top tier schools, you will want to try perhaps one more time to get the GMAT even higher to be most competitive. Having said that, a 710 is not going to be what keeps you out of these schools in the end, so begin focusing on how you feel you are different than someone with a similar cultural, educational and professional background as yourself and begin developing a narrative that is compelling and memorable. Transitioning in a career is not uncommon with MBA, but you don't want to be perceived as changing both industry and function, since those kinds of "double switchers" tend to scare off schools who must make sure you are employed on the backend in order to keep the rankings high. A mature transition for your career must be articulated, which ties in and leverages what you have done in the past with what you want to do in the future. Let us know if we can help you figure it all out.
