hi paul, thanks so much for your response.
i am aiming for a 700 now, hopefully higher. with that score, would you say it offsets my lower GPA?
in terms of a consulting career, and given what you know about my profile, is there any other schools in new england, east coast area you would recommend?


ca_gold,

Yes, a 700 would largely offset the GPA, but not nearly as much as, say, a 740 would. A 700 would turn it into a modest negative rather than a big one. For consulting on the "northern east coast," consider Yale, MIT, CMU, and Georgetown.
