Hello,

Could someone please evaluate my profile and give me some advise on how realistic my MBA choices are?

Age: 23
Sex: Male
Work: experience over 2 years, working in M&A at a bank in London
GMAT: 710 AWA 5.0
Education: Excellent results at school, finished from a top 3 B-school in UK with BSc Accounting and Finance (65%) (2:1)
Languages: speak 3 European languages
Excellent extracurricular activities during university holding management positions (president at school representing thousands of students for 3 years at education minister level, head of largest university society, etc.)

I am hoping to apply to:
HBS
Stanford
Insead
MIT
Chicago
Yale
Oxford

You have a competitive profile for HBS, Stanford, and Chicago. INSEAD, MIT, Yale, and Oxford are reach programs primarily because they value experience a little more, and you are young.

Hi Linda!

Thank you for the advice! I had two last questions to ask:

1. Which other programs do you believe I could be competitive at? Could you also suggest one school which could be a safe option as a back-up?

2. What age range/ experience are INSEAD, MIT, Yale, and Oxford more interested in?

Nick,

You're welcome. To answer your questions:

1. You could also be competitive at Wharton, Columbia, and UCLA. A safety program would be Rochester Simon.
2. The other schools seem to prefer applicants with at least 3 and maybe 4 years of work experience. The average age is usually around 27-29. You can get these stats on the BusinessWeek web site.

You might be interested in "MBA Admissions for Younger Applicants."
