If you have IB experience, it is much more feasible to get into it and that's reflection of the students who are attending those other programs - landing in the IB space. It is not that Kelley is being prejudiced against but rather they have not had students who were pursuing it seriously enough or perhaps with IB aspirations.

Darden and Stern would be best from the T20 group. Darden would be ideal from ROI perspective. :)

Hello

I would say McCombs, if finances aren't a concern, and Kelley, if they are. The third choice would be Marshall.

From your waitlisted category, my top choices would be Ross followed by KF.

My overall top five (without considering finances) would be Ross, McCombs, Marshall, KF, Kelley.

All the best!

Hey jarlgrey,

Based on your profile and criteria, the following are some points to look at,

1. Rice University - Known for its strong finance curriculum, Rice offers a wide range of opportunities to network with alumni in finance, including those in investment banking.
2. Simon School of Business - With a focus on finance and analytics, Simon has a strong reputation for preparing students for careers in finance and investment banking.
3. Kelley School of Business - Kelley has a well-regarded finance program and a strong alumni network in the finance industry, which could help you achieve your post-MBA goal in IB.

The rank of the college and the scholarships offered, i would take into consideration when choosing from the above
Tuition not so much, as you can recover it quite fast keeping into account that finance pays the highest salaries, so ROI is high

Adding to the above when it comes to IB
The brand matters, IB firms are notorious to prefer students from top schools
So if you get an admission from Ross or Anderson I would choose them above the other 3.

Other points to take into consideration would be placements in your choice of IB firm, clubs in the school specifically in the finance domain and the existing professional network of the school

Hope this helps

Dear MiMEssay - You do realize that you are trying to promote and sell your service to someone who is already admitted and not planning to apply? You want them to buy your essay review services. For what? What would they do that for? Apply next year or resubmit them? What is your thinking here?

Also, to me this seems more like spam because of statements such as:

Quote:
Known for its strong finance curriculum, Rice offers a wide range of opportunities to network with alumni in finance, including those in investment banking.
What school does not offer a wide range (really vague by the way) opportunities to network with alumni in finance including investment banking? You can say this about any school.

Quote:
2. Simon School of Business - With a focus on finance and analytics, Simon has a strong reputation for preparing students for careers in finance and investment banking.
Better than Kelley and Rice?

Quote:
3. Kelley School of Business - Kelley has a well-regarded finance program and a strong alumni network in the finance industry, which could help you achieve your post-MBA goal in IB.
But does it offer a range of opportunities to network? or does this strong alumni network not have opportunities?
Maybe it has a strong (how do you measure strength?) alum network in Finance but it is small. 12 people out of 132 in 2021 graduating class got a job in finance based on US News. That's less than 10% of the class. I would not say Kelley is not well-regarded program (it is and highest ranked of the group) but I don't think finance is the focus at Kelley on the same level as it is for Simon for example where 25% of the class goes to Finance.

McCombs ($) vs McDonough ($) vs Marshall vs Rice ($$) vs Kelley ($$$) vs Simon ($$)

I am also waitlisted at Ross, Anderson, Tepper and KF.

And hopefully will get some admits from my R2 apps (Emory, Yale, etc.)

Basic considerations:

1. post-MBA goal is IB.
2. my background is 7 yrs of experience in CPG and management consulting.
3. no location preference as such (both for the MBA and post-MBA job location)
4. I would not want to be siloed into an industry (for e.g. doing Oil and Gas IB would pretty much rule me out for any other IB coverage industry/product group later on)
5. Basis my savings, borrowings from family, and the loan amount that I’ll be approved for, I’m looking at a maximum CoA of 150k, I don’t want to go beyond that.

Hey jarlgrey,

Based on your profile and criteria, the following schools might be a good fit for you:

It's important to note that all of these schools are competitive and have strong programs in finance and investment banking, so you may also want to consider other factors such as location, campus culture, and career resources when making your decision. Additionally, if you receive admissions from your R2 applications, you should consider those schools as well, as they may be a better fit for your needs and goals.
