Does anyone know where I can find the questions asked of recommenders? They don't seem to be included in the online application system.

There are no questions per se. However, recommenders are provided the following guidelines:

Please provide a written letter of recommendation. Be sure to include how the applicant ranks comparative to his/her peer group. Other items to consider are the applicant's:

* most salient strengths
* areas of development, including efforts the applicant has taken to show improvement
* team skills and leadership ability
* initiative, curiosity and motivation
* other matters which you feel we should know about the applicant

I was planning to apply to 2-3 schools in Round 2. Zero progress so far. Checking the airline prices does not seem like a bad idea on the other hand :-D

Same here, Columbia RD seems like so much work. Adding to my lack of motivation is the fact that my boss quit a week back. So it's just a wait for the new year to think about organizational changes.

Oh, but there is.
You can find it when you login and go to "download material" or something like that. I have uploaded the file here, see if it works.

I only found this out after my recommenders had sent their own version of the letters :(

Best luck,

This is just a question scale and takes 2 seconds to fill. Unlike other schools, Booth does not ask the reccomenders to answer specific questions in the actual letter.

In any case I thought it would be useful to share this, and have JMW's recommenders fill the grid instead of just sending the text. I wish someone had told me about the grid before...

December 02
Round One Update

It’s a busy time of year here in the Admissions Office. We’re rapidly approaching the Round One decision date while also looking ahead to our Round Two application deadline which is only a month away. I thought that I’d use this blog entry to provide you with an update on where we are with our Round One applications and what Round One applicants can expect to happen during the next two weeks.

On Tuesday, we finished the last of our admissions interviews. Applicants had the opportunity to interview with students or alumni either here in Chicago or at different locations around the world. After each interview was conducted, an interview report was submitted and added to the applicant’s file. The file then went to a member of the Admissions Committee for another review. We’ve now turned our attention to building our class. This is an exciting part of the process where we are able to craft a class of students who will bring a unique set of interests, experiences, and perspectives to Booth. We will announce our decisions on Wednesday, December 15. And, as we have done in the past, we’ll call our admitted students to welcome them to the Booth community.

After we release the Round One decisions on the 15th, there is another important date for us to look forward to – January 5 – our Round Two application deadline. If you’re applying for Round Two and have questions about the application, then please join us for a live chat on Thursday, December 16 at 11:00 am CST. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Admit weekend 1 is 2/11-2/12. Booth typically calls applicants the day before the deadline.

Yes! I have numbered the days on my calendar, counting down to December 15th (though hopefully I will hear the day before via phone call :-D ) It's like a cartoon, but instead of the calendar pages flying off the wall it takes a month for each day to pass. :?

The thing is... for Asia-Pacific candidates that are +15h (my case) from Chicago... we (if accepted) will receive the call on "our" day 14, day 15 or day 16? :lol:

By the way, who makes the call, an AdCom member or the interviewer?

I've resigned myself to just checking my status or receiving an email. The chances of them getting through my Afghan cell phone is about zero.

Good luck with not only your application but for everything else too. Your fight helps India as well, so thank you and be safe.

Almost every accepted candidate will receive a call by Adcom member on 14th.

Exactly on the 14th? Could it be before that? Are you sure? I am trying to manage my expectations because apparently Kellogg starts making calls today all the way till the 20th. :(
