Add values of first 4 terms:
0.5+0.25=0.75
0.75+0.125=0.875
0.875+0.063=0.938
These are first 4 terms. You can observe 2 things from above:
1) Value is more than 0.9 and approaching 1
2) The rate of increment is reducing substantially and subsequent addition will only make difference in 1000th or occasionally 100th place. This will never reach 1.

After additing first 4 terms, you can eliminate 3 options

after the 2 analysis given above, d is the only option

Can someone please explain with the answer is 5.33 (5 on the answer)? I tried using the seesaw method for weighted averages and keep getting 5.5. Thanks! The question: "A plane can travel 200 miles on 50 gallons of jet fuel when it flies at 10,000 feet. It can travel 300 miles on 50 gallons of jet fuel when it flies at 20,000 feet. Which of the following is closest to the number of miles per gallon that the plane will average if it flies for 1,000 miles at 10,000 feet and 3,000 miles at 20,000 feet?"

So you need to find the MPG for each of the different altitudes. For 10 thousand feet thats 4 miles per gallon (200 miles / 50 gallons) and for 20k feet thats 6mpg (300/50). Then total MPG will be = total miles traveled divided by total gallons of fuel used. For total miles this is 1000 + 3000 = 4,000. The tricky part is the total gallons. You need to find the gallons used for each altitude traveled then add them together. Divide the first 1,000 miles by 4 miles to get the number of gallons at this altitude (250). Then divide 3,000 by 6 for the gallons used at that altitude (500).

When you divide the total 4,000 miles by the 750 gallons used you get the 5.33 for your total miles per gallon

Plug in values and solve. Start with simple ones like 2, 1, 1/2 and 1/4.

when you calculated ’z’, you missed a ’w’ in the last step. it should be x3/w2. not x3/w

What is a good score in focus edition? Like in old edition 690+ was considered good.
