Hi again 
can anyone help me with this one? Why would your thought process be for it? If I’d like to plug in values, what are the tricks to find a quick GCD of X and Y so that this GCD is lower than X and Y? in less than 3 mins? or.. do you have any other quicker process to solve this one? Thanks

1. If you want to approach it with taking values, you can take x as 15, y as 25. U will get the answer.
2. Elimination approach
Between x and 1, GCD will always be 1.
Between y and xy, gcd will always be y.
For 3rd option, assume, x=da, y=db. x-y= d(a-b)
Between db and d(a-b) , d will be GCD as a and b doesn’t have common factor

Used 6 and 8 to get the answer. Although I’m not sure plugging in is the best way to solve this.
