Coordinate geometry is still a part of the GMAT Quant.

None of my mocks had any questions. Can someone else confirm or concur?
Now even I am confused.

DI may have some questions related to equations of line and slope. They may seem like coordinate geometry but they are actually algebra and logic in the hindsight.

Yes me too. Did not found any coordinate geometry question in official mock tests. Only found 1 in Gmat club mock. Can anyone share there actual test experience whether they’ve found any question on actual test or even mock test.

There is a lot of confusion with geometry and GMAT Focus. The best I can explain it and summarize it, is that you do not need to study and learn formulas for regular geometry. However!!!

1) you will encounter geometric concepts such as volume, area and other elements as a part of other types of questions. I’ll share an example below from the gmat focus gmat prep tests.

2) coordinate to geometry which is called functions is very much tested on the GMAT focus

Sounds plausible. Though haven’t encountered any question directly or indirectly related both during mocks and practice questions.

@Satyam7777 got one in the actual exam . The coordinate question was coupled with P&C topic.

I think they are rare but they do exist. Like the 3 questions @bb has shared, none of them actually required "geometry". In Q1, volume of sphere was given so it all boiled down to algebra! Q2 was logic and combinations. Q3 required pythagorus theorem and probability. None of them actually required any geometry!

Can you pls elaborate more on which topic of coordinate geometry , whether core concept was required or just simple coordinate geometry based on simple line equations, slopes, finding co ordinates etc?

If I remember correctly, it was mainly concept based, which used P&C principles also. As it was tested on the real Exam, he didn’t divulge actual figures.

Hi, in this question, can someone please explain why will we take both cases for RHS - negative and positive both? I had consider RHS as only = x+2 and got the wrong answer. As per solution, both cases; = X+2 and =-x-2 will give the right answer. Can someone please explain why?

My reasoning was the RHS cannot be negatve since LHS is a square
is the answer c for this
