Would it not be $300? 15,000 x 0.04/2 = 300
Can anyone help explain this?

I divided by 2 because the money was actually only there for 6 months, not 12. However, upon reflection, I realise now it was actually 5 months.

Hence, I would have calculated 15,000 x 4/100 x 5/12

Oh okay, I did the same way as well. Though the option which is correct is 296 (approx).

25

total - 100 percent
car - 75 percent
motorbike - 50 percent
none - 0 percent ( since it’s given everyone either owns a car or a bike or both , so none = 0)

using venn diagram concept for two cases

Total - None = A + B - both
100 - 0 = 75 + 50 - both

therefore , both = 25 %

Jan 1 20000 deposited

interest per day 4/365 /100 = 1/90*100

interest earned by Jan 10 -- 20000 * 10 * 1/90*100 = ~20

Interest earned by feb 10th -- 19020 * 30 * 1/90*100= ~ 63.4

Interest earned by Mar 10th -- 18083.4 * 30 * 1/90*100= ~ 60

April 10 -- 17123 *30/90*100 = 57.07

May 10 = 16180 *30 * 1/90*100 = ~ 54

June 10 = 15234 * 30 * 1/ 90 *100 = ~50

20 +63+60+57+54+50 = ~294
This way, was too calculation intensive. Will surely hop on to next question or make an estimated guess if I ever came across a question like this.

Thank you for explaining :)

I have given mocks from Official GMAT and GMAT club.
I observed that official mocks are easier compared to those from GMAT Club. Not sure which are closer to actual test as I have about 80-100 points difference between the 2

total ways are 12c4. = 495
exactly 1 couple is 6c1 * (10c2-5) = 240
Exactly 2 couple is 6c2 = 15

495-240-15 = 240
Teh above is correct

But why is the following approach wrong

Total 12C4 = 495
Now take any one couple 6C1*10c2 = 270

495 - 270 =225 which is weong

but 10c2 includes the possibility of 2 couples also no
so why is that wrong?

I think the answer is a. 5:2:1
