As an Indian applicant, I am a little concerned about disclosing my pre-MBA salaries on B-school apps on the grounds that they would look ridiculously low compared to US salaries to the adcoms. Even though they might look at them in their context, still I doubt whether an accurate comparison or conversion is possible.

Do you think it would look bad if one opts out of disclosing the salaries on the app? Also, would love to know how other Indian applicants have dealt with/ plan to deal with this?

Thanks

I just posted a direct conversion of my salary. I'm sure the AdComs are smart enough to know that averages here are obviously lower, and that we're just doing a direct conversion of currency.

I'm not too worried about it, I have other things in my application to be worried about!

Do not be concerned at all. Adcoms know low-income countries. Just convert the annual income in US$ and type. Be yourself.

Good luck
