Age: 29 years at matriculation
Nationality: Was born in Pakistan
1) 4.5 years experience at top defense company. 2 years as an engineer, 2.5 years as project manager
3 years U.S Army - enlisted after high school - Honorable discharge, awarded Army Commendation Medal
2) 680 (V 37, Q 46)
3) BS Electrical Engineering (GPA 3.44/4.0) , (Major GPA 3.56/4.0)
MS Technical Management (GPA 3.6) worked on my masters while working full-time at my current company
4) EC - Member Toastmaster club - served as treasurer for one year
Member of couple of teams at work but I've not been that active due to work requirements.
EC is probably one of the weakness of my overall profile
5) Important certifications - None, planning on getting PMP certification but this will not be complete before deadlines
6) Target programs - Duke, Michigan, Cornell, UVA
7) Post MBA - I want to work in operations management role with the aim to move into general management position after gaining 3-5 years experience.

I think you are stretching a tad. Not ridiculously so; you certainly have a chance at all 4, but I would l also like to see you apply to at least two slightly less competitive programs that would still be strong in operations. Also consider Purdue, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, and Michigan State.

Hi, Tai. I just wanted to add that I don't think you should be emphasizing the PMP certification process right now as much as extracurricular leadership. A certification is nice but it doesn't prove ability as much as leadership impact does!
