Hi...I scored 710 in GMAT (1st attempt)
I have 8 years of work experience in marketing. For the last 5 years, I am working with India's leading media house - Times of India Group. Have got promoted consistently throughout the tenure.
Have good academics scores throughout. I have completed an MBA before from a decent B-school (IMT Ghaziabad) in India.
Want to apply for a 2-year MBA course in top institutes - Harvard, Wharton, Kellogg, Sloan, INSEAD.
Is there merit in applying with this score or should I focus on re-writing GMAT?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
Here's my take.
- Forget about Harvard, Wharton & Sloan - too old a candidate, and no "exclusive brand" elements in profile (think IIT/NIT, bluechip work-ex)
- Kellogg 1Y may be a possibility - at least hit a 730+ score for that, and of course app should be executed brilliantly with clear reasons for 2nd MBA
- To have any shot at Top 15 US schools, GMAT score needs to be at least 750.. the higher the better. There are just too many great Indian male candidates with GMATs 760 and above
- For schools in rank 15-25, you may stand a chance but it will be low. Chances will be much better with GMAT 730+.
- My knowledge on INSEAD is low, but will probably be a tough sell with current stats.
All in all, you should definitely take the GMAT again and improve your score.
