Hi All,
Been a silent follower for many months, however I needed some advice before starting my MBA preperations. Currently, I am an IT Professional working at a major bank. My situation is a little bit different as I am an Indian but a US citizen (moved here as a child). I am interested in pursuing a full-time MBA and I'll apply in Fall 2015.
My MAJOR drawbacks:
Undergrad degree from an online college with a 2.9 gpa, I was kicked out of my state school due to poor grades dealing with family health issues and I was unable to recover from that. My grades before that weren't exactly stellar either (3.0 gpa)
My strengths:
Extensive experience in big banks and insurance firms, Since I work as a consultant, I have an extremely high salary (not sure if it is important but I do know that MBA programs ask about it, so I assume the higher the salary the better it looks for their reports??), PMP certification ( i took an accredited college course for this and got an A on the course, could use as showing that I'm not a complete moron). I do have years of community service, we haven't done anything earth shattering but it is consistent and helps promote our culture.
What can I do to improve?
Any suggestions on what can I do to improve my profile...I am planning on taking additonal courses through BYU/UCLA extension early next year along with prepping for GMAT. Hypotehtically, if I can get 700 or above is there a good chance of me getting into an MBA program within 18-25 range?
