My profile is as follows

GMAT- 690/5 ( a bit low score)
Toefl -112

Acad- Class12-90%
B.tech - 9.5/10( NIT silchar one of top colleges in india and was the gold medalist)

Work ex- in petroleum industry with ONGC for 3years
Working in a project with experience of project management and business development apart from technical work.

EC- good
Reco-good
I want to pursue a career in Energy consulting.
I am unable to decide which colleges to keep in r1 and which in r2. What are my realistic chances?

Consulting firms hire most of their associates from the top 16 schools -- so that's what you should limit yourself to. However, you're going to be a stretch for all of them, even with a higher GMAT score. In any case, I'd target Duke, Darden, Michigan -- and maybe some regionals like Georgetown, UNC, and Texas.

Thanx for the inputs Alex....my USP is the way i can differentiate my work exp with others...i want to put emphasis on that so as to make my profile more attractive as compared to others..i am looking towards schools DUke, Michigan and Darden was also thinking for Tuck or may be cornell......Kellogg is a very optimistic choice for me should i take a realistic plunge at those too
