Hi Alex,
I'm planning to apply this year to begin school in the Fall of 2012. I'd like to get an idea of what my chances would be at a few schools I'm targeting. Thanks for the input.

Age/Race: 26 Year Old White Male
GMAT: Taking test in 2 months, expecting 680-710
College: 3.45 GPA from Syracuse University Major: Communications (top undergrad communications school in country) Minor: Finance
Work Experience: Worked for 3+ years at a small B2B marketing/PR firm in NYC where I worked closely with both high-tech start ups and global multi-billion dollar clients in financial services, telecommunications and Consumer Product Goods markets; promoted three times, managed agency's largest account and successfully pitched new business proposals to prospective client's CEOs.
Six month sabbatical for travel (will this hurt me too much?); Right now I'm interviewing for consulting/marketing job which I'll do until I begin school in 2012
Extra-Curricular: Founded on-campus consulting business in college that provided marketing services to student entrepreneurs; 1.5 years of Pro-Bono and volunteer work for Harlem community health initiative program; volunteer for middle east media political advocacy group
School List: Michigan-Ross, NYU-Stern, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Georgetown

Don't worry about the sabbatical hurting you - it won't.
In short, it sounds like you have a pretty good handle of where you stand, and your school choices reflect that -- you should be competitive for the schools you listed, and you should be able to get into at least a few of them (assuming a 700+ GMAT and solid execution on the apps).
