Dear All,

The following is brief about my profile. I am planning to apply to One year MBA colleges (starting in 2018).

Experience and Age:
Age:- 35
Experience as of October:- 12 years ( 2 years - Local Bank in Singapore, 6 years - US Bank (from Big 4) in India and 4 years - IT Services firm in India)
In these years, I have played various roles, such as Delivery Manager, Product Manager, Tech Lead and Business Analyst, with couple of months of international exposure in UK and US. For last 2 years I am located in Singapore. I have worked for 4+ years in investment bank division.

Academics:
GMAT score:- 710 Q-48 V-38 IR-6 (October 11, 2017)
B Tech in Metallurgy from IIT Roorkee (2005) CGPA - 6.75 ; No percentage or GPA calculation as per university.
CFA Charterholder (awarded in 2016)

Extra Curricular and awards:
I worked in an NGO for 2 years. I headed education cell and was national social media coordinator. As part of the education cell, I taught 9th and 8th grades in government school, one hour everyday on week days. Wells Fargo, US awarded me volunteer service award worth $5000 (amount credited to NGO) for my contribution to the NGO. I also have some outstanding academic awards from my employers. In addition, I founded and led 2 students' groups in my college.

Target Fields:
My target fields are Investment banking, Financial Services, Technology and Consulting.

I have sent my GMAT reports to the following Programs:-

Cornell Tech MBA
Emory one year MBA
Kellogg one year MBA
Western University - Ivey Business School
Mendoza College of Business one year MBA

Other colleges I am planning to apply to:

INSEAD
Southern California (Marshall)
Pittsburgh (Katz)

Please let me know what other additional schools I can target. My age and experience is on higher side, hence I want to know if that will be a negative point for my profile? I am also looking for scholarships, though I know they are rare.

Thanks
Gannuswami

A lot of the European business schools are more forthcoming towards older applicants, yet your list of schools is very US-heavy. Is there any particular reason you are not looking into European schools more?

Thanks for your reply. The main reason for ignoring the European schools is fewer job opportunities in Europe. I understand there are challenges in US too, however I heard it is better than Europe. Please let me know if my perception is wrong. In addition to the above list, I am thinking to apply to NUS and Nanyang Business School.
