Hi,
Would someone please provide some direction? I'm looking to apply to Stern, Tuck, Columbia but should I also consider Stanford or Harvard? Am I way off base?
-Male
-Caucasian
-28 (at time of enrollment)
-GMAT 710 (41V, 46Q)
-Middlebury BA - English
-GPA: 3.4, Cum Laude
-2 years in an operational role in a middle market PE firm in New York managing pooled purchasing for a portfolio of 56 North American companies
-1 year working with companies for the same PE firm in Brussels, Belgium while also establishing a purchasing program for 17 EU companies
-2 years back in New York establishing and managing a group of specialized consultants and placing them at companies facing problems within a portfolio of 56 North American companies held by the same PE firm as my other two experiences
There's some more color to all these items but essentially this is what I boil down to. No major outside activities besides participation in triathlons and marathons and organizing and managing reunions for college fraternity and high school.

To be honest with the info you gave us it's hard to say. Look, technically a 710 is good enough to get into any school in the world. It's well within the normal range, so once you have it our focus shifts to other thing - How many people does this person lead? How many promotions has he/she gotten? What are his/her greatest achievements? Does the person have any leadership on the side? How strong is the community service? And so on and so forth. which means, essentially, that we need to get into detail.
