I would like to attend the Baruch Honors full-time MBA program (not the part-time flex program). I am unsure whether I should retake the GMAT exam. What are my chances of getting into the honors program?
1) I will have 2 years of experience as a financial analyst in a skincare company. The department only consists of my boss and I, originally my supervisor was the manager but he left after 2 months of my start date. I took over 80% of his responsibilities. My main responsibilities include financial reporting & analysis and accounting.
2) I took the GMAT for the first time today and scored 620 (38Q 38V). My quantitative falls in the 48th percentile which is very low.
3) College info: Rutgers University, 3.7 GPA, double major- Finance and Accounting, 2010.
4) Finance society and Accounting society during college.
Yes, I am pretty sure you will need to retake the GMAT to boost your Quant score (go ahead and boost your Verbal a bit if you would like too
).
You sound like a competitive candidate for the program once your GMAT score is "repaired." Just make sure that you don't spend your entire application talking about your ability to account and financially analyze: share other aspects of your personality and team experiences as well.
