Hello I am looking for a profile evaluation.
Background information:
Undergrad - Purdue University GPA: 3.75
Major : Hospitality and Tourism Management
Several Deans Lists and student organizations
GMAT : 690 (Q47 V37) (considering a retake, thoughts on that?)
Work Experience - (3 years upon applications)
2010 - 2011 - Manager Four Star resort, first job out of college. Responsible for staff, training, interviews for staff, inventory. Moved around several different restaurant outlets, a lot of great experience in management.
2011 - Current - Foodservice consultant
Design of commercial kitchens and restaurants. A lot of design work and project coordination. Currently project coordinator but am training for promotion to manage my own projects and become a project manager
Extra Curricular -
Several Work and professional organizations where an active member always trying to network and improve standing
Volunteer work here and there. Volunteer mentoring students, humane society, habitat for humanity
Looking to improve my extra curriculars, it is a decent part of my application but looking to improve with more management positions within organizations and non profit organizations
Goals: I am aiming for a top 25 school that will work with me and allow me to continue my studies in the hospitality industry. I am looking to get an MBA to eventually lead to a job in a hospitality company that works on business and planning for hotels and restaurants. My eventual dream goal is to start my own hotel/resort chain
I feel an MBA would help me acheive these goals. I am not necessarily looking for a top 5 school but for a school that will work with my goals and allow me to continue this direction. Although a top 5 school would be great. I have identified a couple of schools that may be good fits, especially Cornell. What are your thoughts on my chances at a top ten school? Top twenty school?

Overall, you have a solid background and if you want to continue in hospitality post-MBA, you certainly have a great career background for it (i.e. combining your experience thus far with an MBA will certainly be a big asset as you continue to progress within your industry).
Having said that, your GMAT is what will dictate the tier of schools you're competitive for. With a 690, schools in the top 30 are in range. Schools in the top 16 like Cornell will be stretches (but still worth applying with your current score). If you want to be more competitive for top 16 schools like Cornell, you should retake the exam, and shoot for a 700+ and ideally a 720+ (which basically works out to 1-2 additional correct answers on the exam). You can do it! If your GMAT is in that range, you should have a pretty reasonable shot at any top 30 school, and your chances at top 16 schools like Cornell will only be stronger.

Hi,
Your work experience is decent and you have a good GMAT Score. You are in perfect stage of your career and a 3-4 years of work experience is what most B Schools look for. As per your GMAT Score i would recommend you to target Duke, Tepper, Indiana Kelley, Michigan State University, Emory, Texas and U T Austin which falls in the range of 690-700 average GMAT Score. However you need to be prepared for the questions like your rationale behind applying for a specific B school, so on and so forth.
There are many more but the above list comprises of a few good ones you should definitely target. It is highly advisable in your case to focus on your application evaluation essays. This is where you can demonstrate your leadership qualities, achievements, professional vision and other abilities. A well presented and perfectly written essay is absolutely critical to make a strong case for yourself during the final interview and more so when you have an average GMAT score.
It is advisable to seek assistance from professional consultants for guidance who can more closely review your situation and provide you with a list of B Schools where you would have chances of converting your application to admission. You should also get your essays reviewed from them before sending it along with your application to better your prospects.
