Hello,
Please evaluate my profile and help me shortlist schools where I stand a reasonable chance of getting accepted.
MY PROFILE : Age 33, Indian Male
EDUCATION : High School: 75.2 %
Senior Secondary School: 62 %
Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Pune University with 55 % aggregate (Degree certificate mentions "first class with distinction" as degree is awarded on the basis of final year's marks which in my case is 66%)
GMAT SCORE : Total 700 ( Q 47, V 38)
WORK EXPERIENCE: 9 years of work experience of both government and private top infrastructure companies. Have first hand experience of India's first metro rail project, airport development projects and PPP projects. One of the few employees to have been considered for an out of turn promotion in my current job at a public sector company where time bound promotion is the norm.
I have shortlisted a few schools:
US: Fuqua (duke), Ross (Re-applicant, first application 2 years back) , Kellogg, Tuck, Wharton, Kenan-Flagler(Re-applicant, had interview call in first application 2 years back)
POST MBA Concentrations : Infrastructure industry.
Could you please evaluate my candidacy for the above schools and suggest more schools based on my profile?

Thanks for reaching out to me. Could you provide a little more information are your goals? The MBA is more a degree that will help you get somewhere, rather than a degree that will help you travel back in time. I am kidding ... But not really.
The reality of your re-applicant situation is that I should be asking you what happened. Now that you are a little older and wiser at the age of 33, what do you think went wrong last time?

Thanks for your reply. Probably I could not state clearly in my previous post, but I was a re-applicant only in Ross and Kenan-Flagler. As far as Kellogg, Tuck, Wharton and Duke are concerned, this is going to be my first time. I had sought your advice on my choice of schools both as a first time applicant for Kellogg, Tuck, Wharton and Duke and as a re-applicant for Ross and Kenan-Flagler. If you can guide me about my present choice of schools and any other schools you feel would fit my profile, please do let me know.
Coming to our question as to why I failed two years back. Back then I did not have much idea about how to write essays in a proper way, and honestly I wrote really bad essays. They did not present the real me. I was new to the MBA admission process and I had not done my homework, honestly. In these two years, I have met a lot of people from industry who have done MBA from top schools and they have guided me on how to do justice to my essays and now I believe I am in a far better position to present my best in the essays.
About the career goal part, I intend to leverage my solid experience of 9 years in the Indian infrastructure industry to make a future career in the same industry, post MBA. I have worked for top infrastructure companies in the private as well as the public sector managing large PPP projects. With immense opportunities available in the Indian infrastructure sector, I would like to get back to India after completing my MBA and join a growing infrastructure company. I would like to be a part of the business development team of such a company guiding it's growth in the PPP project domain. My experience and the skills gained during MBA rightly prepare me for such a role. In the long run, I intend to start a venture of my own having gained more experience at a higher responsibility level.
I hope it gives you succinct idea of my career plans and puts you in a better position to assess my profile now.
