Hi, I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to review my profile.
General
- White male
- 760 GMAT (45 V / 49 Q)
- BA in humanities at a "Public Ivy"
Work
- 1 year as a paralegal
- 2+ years at a second-tier management consultancy (e.g. Booz, Monitor, OW)
- 1+ years at a boutique consulting on digital video
"Extracurricular"
- Head of Marketing for an e-tutoring service
- Culture blogger
Career goal: Work in media, eventually running a TV brand/channel
Schools: Harvard, GSB, Wharton, Sloan, Tuck
Concerns: A bit of a non-traditional career path (originally planning on legal career) -- however this is incorporated intelligently (or so I think) into my essays

Thanks for your message. I think the schools you have chosen are the right ones given your background. I would also like to suggest Columbia and Booth given their strong entrepreneurship program if you are looking to start your own company as you mentioned. Given your non-traditional background, you will need to really emphasize how each of these programs will meet your short term and long term goals. Also, be crystal clear on what those future goals will be. Lastly, I would not be concerned about your paralegal or non-traditional background. This will give you a "uniqueness" if communicated effectively across your applications to the top 5. I remember that last year, one of the consultants who is currently at MAC, helped two candidates with their applications and both came from some work experience in the legal area. One was accepted to MIT and Wharton; the other was accepted to Wharton.
