Thanks for the additional info! So all in, I don't think you're a disadvantage. Your work seems interesting and, while not the sexiest work at your company, definitely keeps the lights on. I think your recommenders can speak to your integral role!

As for your involvement components, especially this web platform, I love it. BUT - that said - I don't think you should wait until R2. I think you should do R1 + R2. You can project numbers if necessary but you're sacrificing a lot by pushing your apps back. I don't love that idea.

In terms of goals, entrepreneurship is both overplayed and a dangerous route. Unless you have experience starting your own company, or having worked at a small start up, you're going to have a hard time convincing the adcoms you have what it takes. So I would say maybe explore more traditional financial goals. Once you GET to school, however, you can do whatever you want :).
