Please help in evaluating my profile...
Please suggest which are the colleges I can apply and What are the areas I can improve upon so that I can apply for better colleges.
GMAT : 670 Q:48 V:33
Academics :
10th : 85%
12th : 97.2%
Engineering : 90% (in top 10 % of the college)
Work Experience :
Working as Deputy Manager, Business Intelligence unit, ICICI Bank (3 years).
Projects : 1) NPA Provisioning analytics
2) Risk Analytics - Segmentation of the loan Portfolio
3) Debt Service Management Group - Collection Analytics ( many left... just for giving an idea... limiting to this)
Educational Achievements :
1) CIMA(UK) - Chartered Institute of Management Accounting certificate in Business Accounting
2) Specialization in Financial Analytics - Jigsaw Academy ( #1 analytics training academy in india)
3) WCBDA - Wrox Certified Big Data Analyst (international IT certification) - By AnalytixLabs
3- 4 courses in EDx and Coursera
Extra-Curricular Activities:

would like to specialize in this field.
2) What are the aspects I need to improve upon to aim for better schools than you will propose for the above question
Please help out. Hoping for a reply. Would help me a lot going forward.

Hi there,
Your acads, certifications and extra-curriculars etc. are strong. However, given your low Verbal score, your GMAT score is not ideal. Was this your first attempt at GMAT? How many years of work experience do you have? Have you been promoted etc.? It would be somewhat premature to suggest schools without all this info. You can check out schools like McCombs or Georgetown to get a sense of schools that may be of interest to you. Please repost your profile with the requested information on Aringo's thread (ask-aringo-if-your-gmat-is-or-might-be-below-109261.html) on this forum so that we can provide you with an accurate and informed evaluation.

or Can I offset this Low GMAT with this application?Hey dude,
Thanks for writing and let me do my best to answer your questions
1. Its not just a question of your GMAT score (although of course that is important too!) Your prior school and your grades and your volunteer work and your work experience are ALL important!
2. Okay the GMAT you know about, so I won't spend any time writing about that. Right now, what I am missing in your profile is who YOU are. Okay, you are an analyst at a bank, but do you have any idea how Indian bank analysts there are who will apply? LOTS! so what makes you you? What makes you unique? What do you have to offer than NO other candidate can offer (it's not cricket!
) So I think the most important thing is for you to do a bit more digging and figuring out how to position yourself.3. Top 20? Maybe. Depends on how good those essays are, and what you come up with. You'd be safer with a 720.
4. Top 10 are probably out of range for you - As a non IIT/NIT grad (the large majority of Indian Top 10 candidates come from those schools) plus not having a Top job (say investment banking at Goldman Sachs) will make things hard, even with a 740 GMAT. Right now with your current score, your range would be in the 20-50 range, and if you can up it to 700, I'd say the 10-30 range.
