Hi
Kindly evaluate my profile.

GMAT - 720 (Q50, V38) AWA-5
GPA - 3.72
XII- 80%
X- 90%

Undergraduation - Mechanical Engg (Delhi college of Engineering)

Work ex- 4years at the the time of matriculation.

I passed out from DCE in june 2013 and joined India's leading automobile company in jul'13. 
Worked there as Production manager leading a huge team of 180 and responsible for production set up and supply chain management of three new models of the company.
My initiatives saved company huge costs. Material management was systematized.

Effectively trained a manpower of 180 for 6 months. Conducted vendor audits and improved overall process efficiency.

From Jan'16 I am working as Data Analyst in Marketing in the same company.

My work ex has given me knowledge of both how to make the product and how to sell the product.

International exposure
A 6 months consulting project in Myanmar.
Responsible for the launch of a vehicle in Myanmar Market. Designed production facilities, trained manpower, designed material supply management system and gave inputs for marketing strategy.

Language skills- English , Hindi, Mandarin

Certifications- 
Certified Data analyst with knowledge of SAS and R.
Preparing for APICS supply chain management certification and target to get certification before applying.

Social Work
City head team of volunteers for India's Leading NGO in child rights.
Working as volunteer for last 3 years. Leading a team of 300 volunteers. Designed several campaigns to raise child right awareness.
Launching an App next month to raise social awareness.

Extracurricular
Founder of a startup in college. Started with pocket money and took to a revenue of 1 Million rupees. Was associated with 80 companies and lead a team of 100.
College Corporate head for 2 years. 
Selected among India's top 50 finalist for Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani fellowship in 2015.
Selected among India's 150 young India fellows from a pool of 20000 applicants in 2016.
Zonal table tennis player and won several corporate championships.

Target schools- Stanford, MIT sloan, Columbia, INSEAD, NUS, ISB, Krannert, ROSS, DUKE Fuqua, Haas, Tuck

Wish to pursue my MBA in operations management.

Please tell do I need to give my GMAT again? Or should I start working on my applications? Which other colleges can I target?

Hey dude,
Good to hear from you.
Overall your profile seems like it is very strong and you have good numbers. It's not "necessary" to redo your GMAT at this point, but that doesn't mean that if you can't get higher, it won't help, especially as an Indian candidate. That having been said, even with your great leadership and volunteer work, the school list you have is a touch tough. My suggestion would be spreading out your application more over the Top 20 schools. This should give you better hcances of getting in.

Finally, I should mention, that for you to make a successful application, may require you to "reinvent" how you think about yourself, and how you present your profile. Now, I feel your profile is very strong, but how you present it, is still too much "Tech-focused" and skill-focused" whereas to make a strong application it needs to be more MBA-focused and achievement-focused.

What else can I say? You have your GMAT, so time to get started on the rest!!!!

Thanks a lot for the evaluation.Your reply has reaffirmed my decision to give gmat again.

I did not get few of the parts. Do u mean to say these colleges are tough in general or specific to my profile?

And how to show profile MBA focussed rather than skill or tech focussed?

In last few days after research I have finalised my list of colleges - Insead, booth, sloan, kellogs, yale, ross, Isb, NUS, tepper, Anderson, johnson, Nanyang

Hey dude, Well what I mean is that an a profile who is Indian/Male/IT and non-IIT that Top 5 (and maybe Top 10) are always gonna be tough, unless you have some story that will make you stand out. And yes, a bit more on the GMAT helps, but from what I've seen it's not that that will get you in, but your STORY. As for how to focus on your MBA skills - it's a lot of work - on your resume your essays your applications etc... but basically you need to begin by THINKING of yourself differently - you aren't just a worker fulfilling tech tasks - you are a leader, a project manager, a teammate, someone with a global vision of the company's future and how to lead it... you gotta start thinking BIG. There's no "secret" here, it just requires a lot of work and a lot of attention to detail (as well as some good writing skills)

Doing better on the GMAT could help boost your chances of admissions.

Your essays will be critical in helping you stand out. For example, you would need to show the scale of your leadership experiences, or how unique and extensive your leadership experiences were leading in set-up of the supply chain management, or with child rights causes.Your extracurriculars are also impressive and will be another area to highlight.

For schools such as INSEAD, you would also want to highlight your ability to work across cultures, and what you can contribute to the experiences of your peers given your background.

Crafting your essays carefully to leverage on your highlights, while demonstrating how the MBA will clearly help you achieve post-MBA goals will greatly impact your chances.
