Hi,

Need help regarding applications and selection of colleges. My profile is as below:

* Indian
* GMAT: 710
* BTech in Civil Engineering - CGPA 9.1/10 ~ 3.64/4.
* Work Ex of 3 years in Top real estate company of India
* Lots of extra-curricular.
* Why MBA: Want to shift from a technical role to a managerial role. Feel that I will reach stagnation in 1-2 years in my current profile.
* Post-MBA Goal: Want to get into a consulting job to better utilise my analytical skills.
* Target: US: Top 5-15 BScools (Kellogg, Fuqua, NYU Stern, Sloan etc) India: ISB.

Questions:

* Am I targeting the right schools considering my profile?
* I understand that nothing guarantees an admit, but still what is the probability of a person with my profile getting an admit from the above mentioned schools?

Hey there,
And good to hear from you!

Now, I'd LOVE to help you out and get down with your profile.

The thing is I am missing detail.

I need a LOT more info from you - school name, employer name, titles, promotions, greatest achievements, volunteer work, sports, community service, religious involvement, leadership.. etc. before I can give you a real evaluation.

It will also be very helpful if you can elaborate upon your goals.

Have a look at some of the other very detailed profile requests on this board and do something similar and I'll be happy to get back to you.

Best,
JF

I hope this helps! And feel free to drop us a line for a free consultation.

Yes, I have to agree with Jon that your profile looks promising but I am missing a lot of detail, so it would not be right to give you an assessment based on what you wrote alone. Instead, it would be great if you could contact the ARINGO team here: https://aringo.com/mba-process-registration/ with a more detailed profile.

I am especially interested in what those extra curriculars are and if any of them meant a leadership role for you. I would also want to know more about your working experience. Have you been promoted? What exactly do you do at work? Etc.

All this can make a big difference so while my first instinct is to say that some of the schools on your list are long shots, I can’t really be sure, so would like to know more about you in order to find out.

Hi karansurana,

Your odds will be determined predominantly by your professional experience: impact at work, leadership, career progress, and so on. Your odds will also be influenced by your articulation of career goals and why MBA (why do you need an international MBA to achieve your goal), GMAT score (yours is on the lower side for Indian applicants), fit with the school etc.
