Re: Profile Evaluation [#permalink]
Thanks for your time Scott.

The bank is Macquarie. Based out of Sydney.
Been promoted twice in the last 4 years.
Front end offices dont encourage graduates. Reason for mba is the same.

Majorly into sports. Represented one of the largest states in India in tennis. I am an army kid, so won many golf, badminton, squash tournaments at that level.
Practice various forms of martial arts.
Changed 10 schools, so diversity of ideas.

I'm open to suggestions regarding the schools i should be applying to. ISB Hybd for sure is on the list. I want to do an MBA from a Grade A college. That is the only pre-requisite. Open to suggestions

Hi, I am a commerce (Bcom H) graduate from Delhi university. Overall graduation score: 74% (Ist division). Did a 2 month long internship where I’m currently working.
Been working for 4 years at aus investment bank. The bank though has a back end office here in India. Currently in financial control among charted accountants.
Apart from that, I’ve played state level tennis, won many golf and squash tournaments at army level and regularly practice Krav Maga, Ji jitsu and mma.

Key Higlights at work and college:
Played a major role in rolling out a global project at the start
Was helping 2 interns from ASHA foundation after 7 months of exp
Saved 500 man hours and team was awarded best team
Drove an independent project saving time and effort.

Future plans: Looking to get into the banking sector again with masters in finance.

2019 is my target date.

Aiming to get into INSEAD Singapore, isb hybd, LBS. What are the chances like?
Can you please help me figure out as far as the profile is concerned and the possible score needed?

August is when I plan to give my exam.

Currently enrolled in egmat for live quants and verbal. A little slow as far as the preparation is concerned due to work pressure. Accuracy is of 65%-70%.
Looking to score 750+.
Getting concerned regarding timelines since I’m taking a lot of time to cover topics. Any suggestions/ tips to reach the desired score would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dhruv

Dhruv,

Thank you for the detailed profile post. I would like to learn a bit more about your background.

1. What bank do you work at?
2. How has your promotion path been relative to others?
3. Any chance of moving to more of a front office role?
4. What are your extra-curricular leadership roles like?

You can also send your resume across. https://www.personalmbacoach.com
I would recommend a range of schools. Even with a 750, LBS may or may not work out with your profile but the others are more in range. I suggest you target 2 reaches, 2 targets (ISB) and perhaps 1 or 2 safer schools.

Best,
Scott

Thank you for the additional detail. I recommend targeting some top schools in each region so that you can spread your chances around and determine where you fit best. For instance, I would look at Oxford and Cambridge in addition to LBS. If you are interested in Asia, we can review some schools there as well.

Best,
Scott
