Hi xalemsharan,

Thank you for your reply. Please read my answers to your questions below.

1. I have come to know that, to pursue a course in Supply Chain/Operations you have two ways, either you can go with the MS degree (MS in Supply Chain, MS in Industrial Engineering) or MBA degree. If that is correct, what are the major differences between these two courses? Typically, the distinction between an MS and MBA is that the MS will have a focused curriculum in the field of study. In your case, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering courses will be the primary focus of the curriculum (theories and practical details). An MBA, on the other hand, is a more generalized study program. The focus here is to produce leaders across sectors. The MBA does allow for concentrated courses (usually fulfilled by the use of electives), but the focus remains on training leaders. For that reason, MBA programs require proven leadership experience, in addition to work experience, which you seem to have.
2. With the above information, which of these two paths (MS/MBA) will consider/I can showcase and use my current job experience while getting an admit or while fetching a job post course completion? The answer to this question depends on what you plan to do with your degree. I write the following with a degree of reservation, as there are multiple factors to consider are there are no guarantees, but typically obtaining a management role post graduation comes easier for those with an MBA that those with an MS.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Thank you SiaAdmissions for the warm response, i would like to know few things here:

Thank you SiaAdmissions, that was helpful insight. From the responses i can see that i have a profile which gives me good opportunities to pursue a career with an MBA. But will universities consider my profile with 2 years of work experience and can i make it to a good (top 50) university, as you were saying that i belong to an overrepresented group? Or do i have to wait for few more years? Because during my research i see that the average class age around 5 years.

Thanks and regards,
