Hi,
Just wondering if someone could do a sanity check on my chances at M7 and T15 programs.
Why MBA?
Looking to work in healthcare startups/ medtech companies in a more managerial/ executive role. Also open to working with healthcare and life science focused VC firms. Finding it very hard to switch into these roles currently.
Demographic
1. British Born Chinese- ?ORM
Educational Background
1. Ranked within the top 10 out of 250 students in my medical degree from a UK university (middle tier university, not particularly prestigious). UK medical degrees don’t get the traditional 1st class, 2.1 designations.
2. Several prizes for top scores in exams
2. 4A* A levels, 8A* GCSEs
3. GRE 324 (Q 161, V 162)
Work Experience
1. Current role- 1 year working as a Medical Investigator in a Clinical Trial for a private healthcare startup
2. Previous roles- 2 years working as a junior doctor in the UK
3. Several research publications in gastroenterology and national research conference presentations
ECs
1. Treasurer of the University football team
2. Secretary of the medics badminton team
3. University Student Ambassador
I don’t know any friends or colleagues who are currently pursuing an MBA. Hence, thought I could get some advice from people familiar with the MBA application process.
Reach schools:
Harvard/ Stanford GSB/ Wharton/ Columbia/ MIT Sloan
Less of a reach schools:
Oxford Said/ Cambridge Judge/ Yale SOM
Sorry to make this post even longer than it already is:
1. My GRE is a significant low point of my app but I can’t dedicate any more time to improving it because of my work commitments.

Was wondering if there is anything else I could do to improve my chances aside from the GRE?
2. Is my profile considered unique enough to overcome the fact I am below the median GRE scores, by 2-3 points, for my reach schools? And is my demographic as an international an ORM?
3. Do applicants with non traditional degree classifications need to get their degrees converted into a GPA format? As we don’t get this in medicine.
Thank you!!
