1 yr. Volunteer program as a volunteer teacher for a Nativity Miguel Middle School (underprivileged students). Program included living in community and poverty.
2 yrs (at time of enrollment) - Market Research Analyst for medium sized print and online news media company.
GMAT: 700 (Q: 50, V: 35) ( took test July 2013)
E.C.: On Board of same school I spent a year at; I also tutor there weekly. I attend monthly start up speaker series and am a half marathon runner
Post- MBA plans: Work for an online media company or VC for online media (further in the future)
First Question: I took the GMAT in July 2013 and am applying in Fall 2015 - will the score be "old"? If so, should I retake it?
Second Question: What range of b-schools am I looking at? My short list is wisconsin, vandy, wash u, texas, Indiana, unc, usc

As long as scores are not more than 5 years old, they are fine. Your score is good--an great from a quant perspective, which is what schools are mostly concerned with. Also good that your post MBA plan and its apparent connection with your past experience is obvious. this shows maturity of vision and helps the adcoms believe you will actually be able to pull off your plans. I think you have a good shot at one or more of your target schools if you have a thoughtfully crafted application that stands out from the crowd. Let us know if we can help.
