Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum. Please forgive me if I did not post this thread in the right place.
I just took the GMAT exam today and got a 620 (48 quant, 29 verbal). I am looking for an MBA program that I could change my career from automotive retail experience to Investment Banking. Here is my profile:
- Male: 27
- Undergrad GPA: 3.59
- GMAT: 620 (48/29 q/v)
- Experience: 5 years in automotive retail as a sales manager.
Which B-school should I apply for? I have done several researches but kind of overwhelmed at this point. Before taking the GMAT my dream school was Mccombs or Emory. However, because of low GMAT score I must look into different program.
I am thinking of: Katz, UC Irvine, Texas A&M, or Mendoza.
I really appreciate your advice.

Your goal is to be in Investment Banking. Why?
What are your extra curricular activities?
From the schools you have selected, they are not really targets for IB, with possibly a little exception to mendoza with the right networking. But your GMAT is low for mendoza.
Your GPA is good. Your GMAT can have a lot of improvement. If you are aiming to apply for R1, I would say study for a month and for GMAT again. You will find yourself in a better place.

Thank you for sharing your profile.
While GMAT score is definitely a critical component of your application, the choice of the school also depends on the career goals you want to pursue post MBA.
I would recommend the following schools based on your profile:
· Purdue
· Maryland Smith
· Mendoza
· Katz
· Iowa state
In case you want to explore Canadian schools, HEC Montreal and University of Alberta can be good options.
Additionally, some schools are accepting applications without GMAT scores as well due to COVID. You should try aiming for them as well after drafting a compelling application capturing meaningful stories from your professional and personal endeavors, and showcasing how you will add value to the classroom.
