- Is my profile decent enough to get into top us MBA programs? What should I do in the coming 2 years to increase my chances and make my profile more competitive to get into my dream (M7) schools? Would a low GPA in my 1st undergrad degree affect my chances and should I apply on the bases of my second undergrad degree?
We think you have a great profile to apply to top M7 MBA programs! The admissions committee wants to see GROWTH over the course of your career. Over the next two years you should:
1. Aim to get over the GMAT / GRE hurdle. Try to do both - it will help you calibrate on which score is higher for you to apply with.
2. Think about the WHY MBA very carefully - do you want to switch from FMCG to tech? FMCG to entrepreneurship? FMCG to Consumer investing? FMCG to other types of investing? and WHY? This will truly help you craft your story
3. Your second bachelors degree GPA is high enough to apply - but I would not shy away from showing both on your application. This shows the growth story that admissions committees want to see.
4. Work hard in your current role and achieve actionable and measurable outcomes (and JOURNAL) - figure out where you went wrong, where you went right and pen them down using the STARRS framework: Situation, Task, Action, Result, Reflection, and Strengthen? This will help build your toolkit of stories within your current role that you can talk about in your application.
