Hi,
I have 4 year work in corporate accounts ( in IT consulting firm, not a reputed one)
3 year degree - Bcom (extra curriculars - University volleyball captain, national level volleyball player)
Gmat - 730
Applied for MBA R1 at Rice, USC, Simon, Mendoza , ISB and NYU.
Had interviews with all schools except NYU, results are as follows
NYU, Rice and Simon added me in their waitlist after interview,
ISB, USC, Mendoza rejected after interview.
I feel all the interviews went pretty well.
I am not sure where my profile is weak at, and want to learn what actually schools are looking for.
Hi
manchevishnu hope this finds you well
I would suggest not to apply blindly to other schools without trying to find first what may not have worked for you or at least what you can do better when applying to other schools.
Your profile does not seemingly have any weak points, but it does not have any exceptional aspects that others may not have (so it seems from the summary). A single applicant with a similar profile, with a slightly better performance in any aspect, can put you on the waitlist or get you rejected.
You did not mention your goals. For ISB, I can say with some confidence that there may have been some gap in your goals narrative. You can contact me if you want help unraveling some gap areas in your essay/application/interviews.
As you may know, schools look beyond academics, the GMAT, the undergrad pedigree, and the employer brand to judge your potential. It would help if you showcased a "hook factor" in your profile, especially since you come from an over-represented pool.
Best wishes
