was looking for a person who will guide me , i posted too many scraps but i didn't get replies. it may be due to my different field and profession.i have seen too many people are from engg or software who are preparing for gmat.
well , we will back to core point, i am shailesh kulkarni, age 27 yrs. i am a pharmacy graduate, and professional exp of 4 years in pharma sales.i am working as a area sales executive in one of the indian pharma company.i have exp in different three organisations.
i grew up in unfavourable environment , my father is a priest of temple in small village maharashtra.i was unaware of importance of education where i was thinking of fallowing my fathers job in same town. my life turned when mother died at the age of 9 .my father wre not able manage the expense for daily food . when i was in 5 th standard i started selling vegetable in weekly bazaar to manage my school fee.
my career took one more turn when i stood first in class with 80% in 10 th standard and i left my village for my further education . i did my 11 and 12 standard with first class but couldn't concentrate on studies in show of managing my expenses. Then i did d. pharma , and then b. pharma from pune university with the help of too many friends. with liabilities on my head i started and preferred to work as medical representative.
here i am giving all my details becoz my background don't support any extracurricular activity, no social working .
during my graduation , i got the opportunities to work as university Representative, sports and cultural secretory, got few certificates in volleyball and cricket championships.and few in dance competitions.
i am working in pharma sales since 4 years i preferred to stick to pharma field.i am getting opportunities to work as area sales manager and will get promotion within few months. Having extensive knowledge of field and related fields.
my Q is how contented my profile to get into top 10 b schools
looking for ur reply.

shaileshkulka,

You are aiming too high with top 10. You are at a disadvantage being in sales in that it is harder to show leadership and analytical ability in that role. You should aim for a 700 GMAT and hopefully some kind of leadership role outside of work. I can't recommend schools because you didn't mention post-MBA goals, but you will need of course to explain how the MBA helps you get from your current career path to your post-MBA career path and how you discovered your post-MBA career path. Believe it or not, there are many excellent MBA programs in the U.S. outside of the top 10.

Good luck to you,
