Why an MBA and why now?
Lack of business fundamentals, looking for new educational exp with international aspect. MBA degree coupled with my international experience will help me to advance in my career. Immediate goal is to join one the major western retail banks in Russia.
1st Schools - Darden, Keenan-Flagler (Case methods) - long shots.
2nd Schools - Kelley, Tepper (Analytical) - stretch.
3d Schools - Owen, Fisher, Katz, Moore - possibly safe choices.
Could you please tell me what my odds @ above mentioned schools are? Also considering the completion in my demo area, do you think I should change my school selection? I believe despite I am a permanent resident BS will look @ me through the international perspective.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated
zelmanov2005,
Your only significant weakness is the GMAT score. If you can bring that up 30 points or so you will really be helping yourself. Even if you don't, Darden, Tepper, and UNC will not be *huge* longshots for you--if you execute well in every other part of your application you might get lucky with them. But increase your GMAT and you could have a serious shot at them. I would say because of your career profile, that Kelley is a "competitive" school for you, not a "stretch." I think you're in at the other four. Given your finance goals, consider Rochester and Vanderbilt, both of which you'd have a decent chance at.
Good luck on the GMAT,
