Hello, first poster here and a little shy to go public. Can you please evaluate my profile?
First of all, I am 31 and turning 32 this May. My target school is Haas EMBA program.
I moved to California from Hong Kong when I was 18. I started from community college and then transferred to Haas undergraduate program. I graduated with 3.49 GPA. I worked in a SF based brokage firm for 1 1/4 years after graduated. The internet bubble bursted, and therefore I left the company. I spent one year to study IT and worked as an IT intern in a national laboratory. I worked my way up to become computer system engineer II. I have been a full time employee for five years. I very good performance review every year with track of increased responsibility. I also had the chance to be the project lead for software application deployment for the lab.
I volunteered as the Internet mentor in the juvenile hall for one year (2006-2007). I also worked as a poll worker in the 2006 election.
I have to say I love both business and IT. My goal is to further develope my career in technology or financial field. I can speak Cantonese and Mandarin well.
I took GMAT in 2006, but it was very low score (590). I plan to take it again this year.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Unfortunately, given your GMAT score and nonmanagerial career track as well as the competitiveness of Haas's executive program, I don't believe you have much of a chance at Haas. I would encourage you to consider other options, perhaps Santa Clara. You may want to read Accepted.com's advice for applicants with low GMAT scores.

Actually I was interested in Haas Evening/Weekend MBA program. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to boost up my chance? I will re-take the GMAT for sure, but my job is sort of "as-is".
