Question

This is my first profile evaluation request .Can anyone help ?

Work Experience : 40 months
I work as a product development manager in HeroMotocorp, world's largest selling two wheeler company based in India.
Have a diverse experience working with international suppliers from countries prominently Japan, China, Taiwan, Italy , Spain and US.
Have been working in a VA VE project with Mckinsey since the start of my job. Got promoted to the post of Deputy Manager in three years.

Passion : Mountaineering , Motorcycle Touring , Bodybuilding ,Guitar and football.
Summited Mt Stok La... A mountain 20,400 feet tall in the greater Himalayas.
Have taken part in many such climbing and mountaineering expeditions
Event organizer in college
Represent the football team of my company 
etc etc

Schools : Although I will send a few application to top schools, Considering my low score I am aiming for:
Kelley
Cox
Ohio
ISB 
Smeal
Krannert
Maryland etc

Also, are schools in the range of krannert and Maryland good to join ??

Hi Joy,

Thanks for posting. Well a 710 is below average at say top 10 schools, but was that what you feel is keeping you from applying to other schools a bit higher-ranked than those you've listed? My one question would be whether you feel you've demonstrated leadership at work and can cite examples of such and of impact made etc... that can tip things one way or another, but otherwise I'd say the schools you mentioned you should have a great shot and maybe better chances for scholarships, and you could look at those a bit higher as well if you'd like to give it a shot... if you are at or above the school's average, then the decision will likely be based upon the rest of your profile. Hi Jenk!! Sorry to irritate you again :oops:

I will surely work hard to get it right with my essays. However , my concern is the AWA and IR score which I don't know what in the world caused me to mess up. My first attempt was 660 with IR 5 and AWA 4 . Actually, I am pretty good with essays and data interpretation .I can improve but I don't want to precious waste time which I could use to improve my essays. Request to share your generous opinion.

Hi there,

So if I'm following you... you are concerned because your AWA and IR went down a lot but your overall score went up?

I wouldn't worry too much as schools are still primarily focused on your overall score, and somewhat on your Q/V splits. Of course it is frustrating but it's not as though you got 0 or 1 or something. On your official score report schools CAN see full past scores if they want (though admittedly not all will look at that before admissions time). It's rare that the final admissions decision would come down to AWA or IR still. If you really want, you can put a line in the optional space just to mention if desired.
