HI,

Could you please evaluate my profile and suggest top 20 world B schools, where I stand a competetive chance.

Education:
Bachelor Of Engineering (Computer Sc.) from Delhi with 78%
Master Of Science (Computer Sc) from Univ of Southern Calif, Los Angeles with 3.7 GPA
GMAT: 730, AWA 5

Work Experience

I have been working in Airtel, leading telecom operator in Delhi for past 2 years
I work as Asst. Manager in IT dept. Here, I am project Manager of about 6-7 projects. These are primarily marketing and CSD projects, which are implemented by IBM. I am responsible of the project’s implementation and roll-out.
I have a team of about 3 from IBM for each of these projects. Have shown various other leadership instances at work.

Extra Curricular:
Working as a volunteer in a NGO for underprivileged women and children for last one year.
I have organized fests and cultural events during my engineering and was cultural head in college. I also participated and won many dance competitions.
I was internal affairs chair of Association of Indian Students in USC
At present, I am member of Cultural and Events committee of Airtel.

Please let me know specifically for HKUST, HEC, Oxford, London business school, MIT

Please advice…..

Thanks a lot
Neha Singla

Neha,

Your "numbers" (GPA, GMAT) are good enough for the schools you mentioned. You have solid leadership (job title and team size), and a decent community profile. At the same time, based on what you gave me, your profile is not terribly unusual, which will hurt your chances at the more competitive programs like MIT and LBS. You should be competitive for HEC and Oxford and HKUST should not be a problem for you. You didn't mention post-MBA goals so I can't comment on other possible schools.

Good luck,

Neha,

I definitely think your odds would be better at MIT over LBS. Given your general management goals, you may want to target schools like Duke, Darden, IMD, Queen's, etc.

Hope this helps,

Hey

Thanks a ton for your reply..
You have mentioned Queen's. Do you think I have a chance in Queen's with this profile
Also, which school has higher rating - HKUST or HEC,Paris
And how is SDA Boccani and my chances in this this school.

Hey,

Yes, you should be competitive at Queen's. HEC Paris is the better program than HKUST IMO. Bocconi is a good European school, the best in Italy, and you should be competitive there.
