Queries -
1. I have pursued the aforementioned programs pertaining to business management. Will it affect my application in any way?
2. I am not a first generation entrepreneur. Though I have worked like an entrepreneur ( starting a business unit from scratch, managing entire operations of the unit) i have been an employee in the business. In this case, will my experience be considered an entrepreneurial experience or not? How important or useful is an entrepreneurial experience?
3. With my profile, is it logical to apply to wharton or Stanford?
4. I wish to work for a management consultancy, as a person specializing in operations and manufacturing management. Shoudl I apply to colleges which are known for operations management or to those known for general management and strategy? Specifically, Purdue-krannert is highly ranked for operations. But is out of the Top 30 band that I am targetting. Should I apply to Purdue?

Thanks for your post. To answer your questions:
1. I'm sorry. I'm not sure what you mean here. The applications differ from school to school, but not based on post-MBA goal within a school. Is that what you're asking?
2. Lots of different kinds of experiences are useful, including entrepreneurial experience. However, the label isn't what's important. The ability to show initiative, assumption of responsibility, and impact are what counts. Acting in an entrepreneurial way gives lots of opportunity to show those qualities and you should be able to do so.
3. It could be. They both have excellent engineering programs. Are you considering the Kellogg MMM program too?
4. Yes. General management and operations. For you I would say Purdue is a safety program. If strategy consulting is your goal, as opposed to working in operations for manufacturing companies, I'm not even sure it's that good a safety. check it's placement in consulting. I think given your stats and experience you can apply to programs with higher overall rank and brand. You need to make sure that the schools you apply to have good recruiting ties and placement in strategy consulting as well as a strong curriculum in operations and general management. You have chosen your schools well and seem to have done exactly that.
