Hi Alex,
Please find my brief profile as follows:
WorkEx: Currently working as an Finance and Strategy analyst at Corporate Executive Board. Started as an associate (yeah, CEB starts with associates), got promoted twice to reach my current role. Prior to CEB, I worked with Frost & Sullivan as a market research analyst for 1.5 yrs. Total work ex: 5.5 yrs as of today
Education: M.Sc Biotechnology (University of Manchester, U.K), BE, Chemical Engg (University of Pune, India)
Others: Lead CEB's CSR efforts. have been volunteering at a school for underprivileged for 3.5 yrs
GMAT: 660, 610, hope to crack a 700+ score in a couple of months
Target schools: Duke, Tepper, UCLA-Anderson, USC-Marshall, Cornell, Georgetown, Rice, Rotman and NUS. I am looking to move to a general management/ marketing role post my MBA.
Demographic: Indian male, 28
Questions:
1. Please evaluate my chances (both with a 660 and 700+ score). Also, do i have any chance of a scholarship at one of these schools? Could you suggest a couple of good general mgmt/ marketing schools where I stand a fair chance of securing a scholarship?
2. if I join a start-up now and interview with these B-schools in Oct/Nov and tell them that I have left my current job to work with a start-up, will it hurt my chances? Does working with a start-up at this point sound silly knowing fully well that I have only 8-9 months left before an MBA? My long term goal is to become an entrepreneur.
Let me have your thoughts. Thanks!
Regards,
anandnat
