Hi Alex,
I have started the application process for Fall '11. Below is my profile. Feedback is most welcome.
Demography: Indian/Male/24
GMAT : 720
GPA: 3.7 from NIT Trichy
Work experience:
1. 2 years in IT in a Investment Firm (D.E.Shaw & Co)
2. Got promoted within 2 years
3. Tech leader for the projects and mentoring new engineers
4. Current projects have resulted in process automation and had a considerable impact in improvement of timelines.
Extra Curricular:
1. Started as a member , and then grew to be elected as the Vice-Chairperson of ISA student branch in my undergrad
2. Was the head of financial committee for an annual national level technical event. My job was to find sponsors, and manage budget for the whole event.
3. Have participated and won in various competitions at national level technical fests.
Why I need MBA?
I would like to pursue a career in the consultancy domain. I have realized my strengths lie in my analytical skills and problem solving skills. I want to pursue strategy as field of study.
I am planning to apply to the following. Please suggest any additions/deletions to the list:
1) NYU - Stern
2) IESE - University of Navarra, Spain
3) Dartmouth College - Tuck
4) Carnegie Mellon - Tepper
5) Cornell University - Johnson
6) RSM - Erasmus University
7) University of Virginia - Darden
8) ESADE, Spain
