Hello,
I have decided late in the process to do a part-time/exec MBA. I prepared for GMAT during the last 20 days and gave my exam today. I live and work in the San Diego area. I have a family with 2 young kids, so relocating or full-time programs seem unlikely. Please evaluate my profile and also suggest some schools that would be a good match for my profile.
1) I have 10 years experience of designing semiconductor devices. It includes 2 years of project leadership experience. Never managed anyone though.
2) Gave my GMAT today - 730
3) Drexel University'01 - MS(comp engg) - 3.5 GPA
4) no significant extra-curricular activity.
5) no important certifications.
6) Target programs - EMBA - cornell-queens, flexMBA from UCSD(Rady), Femba from UCI(Merage), USC Marshall EMBA, online MBA@UNC(Kenan), UI(Kelley) online MBA. - which ones should be my highest priority. Are there anymore that I should apply and pursue.
7) Your post-MBA goal. - 5 years down -> VP of engineering or VP of marketing at a tech firm.
Your help is really appreciated.

Part-time and executive education options are much more complex since you will have to consider how much time you are willing to spend away from your family and how much travel (time and expense) you are willing to expend. There are great resources to find out about programs at Business Week - they have tabs for both Part-time programs and EMBA programs - and the Financial Times. Since you have no extracurricular activities in the recent past, their biggest concerns are going to be your ability to juggle the multiple demands on your schedule that this study is now going to introduce into your life. Be sure to share examples of the ways in which you have handled these types of challenges in the past.
