I am an MBA grad and know the general logistics for application. I have a friend in China and she is thinking about applying. I am trying to help her navigate this process and have a few questions and potential profile review:
Her:
Age 32
Degree: Master degree in management
Job: Manager at a financial institution - experiences in investment banking and corporate finance
GMAT: 700
In terms of her goals:
1. School close to family in VA/DC/MD - maybe 5 hour drive radius
2. Top ranked school
3. Preferably in Corporate Finance or Consulting. I know she doesnt want to do IB and she wants to use her finance strength. Consulting would be second choice.
In terms of schools, I would love some advice on categorizing them in Reach/Target/Safe- off top of my head I can think of these from top 50 within the driving distance and took a stab at it:
Reach:
Wharton
Stern
Columbia
Yale
Target:
Darden, mcdonough, Tepper, UNC, Duke,johnson
Safe:
Smith, fisher .
Is this valid perception or if not please advice.
