Hey Alex,
My profile is:
23/M/White/Originally from Russia, and speak fluent Russian
Undergrad at a top 25 private business school - 3.5 GPA (Finance Major)
Lots of solid extracurriculars through college including internships, clubs, and fraternity e-board positions.
Expected GMAT - 750
Work Experience:
1.5 years at a consulting firm (Think IBM, PWC, Accenture, Deloitte) doing a mix of IT Strategy and Operations Improvement Consulting.
-Projects in different parts of the US
-Solid Extracurriculars through work including involvement in clubs
About to begin a job at a Fortune 25 Financial Services Company doing internal strategy consulting.
Outside of work, I am involved with some volunteer initiatives.
Post-MBA I am interested in being an associate at a Bulge Bracket Investment Bank.
A couple questions that I have:
How long should I be looking to stay at my new position before beginning applications?
Is it beneficial to get recommendations from both my previous employer and my new one? (I left on great terms)
Is my profile competitive for the following schools? (or should I be looking at other programs as well)
-Harvard
-Wharton
-Columbia
-Tuck
-NYU
-Booth
-Yale
-Darden
-Umich

Apply when you feel you're ready. I would also encourage you to visit some of these schools to get a feel for where you stand and what kinds of schools you might fit in.
With 1-2 years additional experience, schools like NYU, Yale, Darden and Ross are sweet spots. Booth, Columbia and Tuck will be stretches. HBS and Wharton are long shots (if you worked at McKinsey, Bain or BCG, it might be a different story).
As for recommenders, get them from both if you can, since you'll need two rec letters for each school.

Dear Alex,
Does working for the BIG Four really Improve one's chances of getting into the Top B-Schools, also where do Consultant Companies like Pwc and KPMG Stand ?
