Re: Profile Evaluation & B-school choices? (Low gpa, high GMAT) [#permalink]
Hi guys!

I am in a similar (or probably a worse) situation.

This is my profile:
Bachelors in engineering (from a top 50 university in India). 8.89/10.0 GPA (top 20% of class)
Masters in engineering (from a top state school in California/ the world) 3.27/4.0 GPA (this is where it gets quirky. I have an F grade here (I did however take an advanced offering of the course and get an A- :( ), partially because of a personal tragedy (due to which I had to go immediately to India) and partially because of my not dropping the course in time.)

Work exp: 2016-now
Working as a Software engineer (not one of the major names)

GMAT: 760 (this is my first attempt, I think I can do better)

Extracurriculars:
Co-founded a company in the social media space
Head of robotics club, math club at my undergrad institution.

Is the damage done by an F grade during grad school a fatal blow to my application? Which schools seem realistic? Are Stanford, HBS, Wharton out of reach?

Thanks!
