660 GMAT Q50 V27

Undergrad: B. business (Accountancy and Finance)- B+ average (top 5% of class) (New Zealand top university)
Grad: M Tax - decent grades (New Zealand top University)
CPA
New Zealand Citizen

Total 6.5 yrs experience (Consulting/Search Fund (Private Equity))

1) Currently working as a Director in a Search Fund (Private Equity) started by a HBS alumni in India- 6 months
2) Worked as Manager in PwC, New Zealand-1 year
3) Working for another consulting firm as senior consultant- 4 years
4) Started a company at age of 20 and sold it after 1 year- grew company from 0 to $500000.

Your current role and entrepreneurial success sound exciting. Your consulting and management role with PwC may also be strong, but I would want to hear more about the nature of that work. You are in the right age range but I am concerned about your GMAT verbal score since it is dragging down your overall score and makes the admissions committee question your ability to make arguments, draw conclusions, and communicate with the class.

Thanks for your reply. Can you please advise few schools (top) where I have a chance based on current score and. Based on improved gmat score of circa 700

The 660 GMAT is below the average of all of the top programs - in the top 30 to 40, and it will be difficult to be recruited for finance with that GMAT score as well. If you do boost the score to 700, then much will depend on the nature of your work and leadership in your current role and as a manager at PwC. Assuming excellent leadership and impact, then I feel you could possibly aim for the top programs. If your consulting role was limited to tax advisory and managing a team of consultants without much influence on the direction of the firm and its clients, then even more will depend on your current role and that GMAT score. If those don't include amazing leadership, then I recommend you apply as well to some lower ranked programs that do solid recruiting in finance. These would include Notre Dame, UT Austin, UNC, and Darden.
