Hello,
I am looking at Executive MBA programs, and while my work experience is very strong both my GPA and GMAT scores are weak. here is a summary of my profile:
- Citizenship : US, Male
- Undergraduate: Major in Accounting, Minor in Finance and Computer Science (2.9 GPA): Low GPA primarily due to a unforeseen financial situation, and family members health
- Work Experience: 14 years
1. Currently director level dotted line to CEO at small-to-mid sized fin-tech firm catering to banking industry. Joined when firm was a small startup, few years later was capitalized by PE firm and recently sold to large publicly traded firm.
2. Previous experience with KPMG and Fitch Ratings in audit and credit also catering to banks
- GMAT: 620 (time mgmt on quant was weak Q: 40, V: 35)
- As a whole my career is shaping up to be cross functional (currently over see parts of product development, product implementation and product sales) for Northeast and Central markets
- Attempted to launch my own start-up in fintech space, and continue to be very interested in entrepreneurship in the fin-tech industry....primary goal of MBA is education in entrepreneurship, networking with like-minded entrepreneurs etc, desire to launch own firm.
I am interested in NYU, Kellogg, Booth, MIT, Haas, and Wharton.
Primary question- Looking at Exec MBA programs for NYU, MIT, Haas and Wharton. Part-time program for Kellogg and Booth. How much does the education (GPA and GMAT) weigh for executive level professionals seeking to advance their careers?
