Hi everyone,
I am looking to apply to two deferred admission programs and want to realistically assess my chances at admission as a stereotypical finance applicant. Appreciate any insight and recommendations.
Background:
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Race: White
Education:
GPA: 4.0/4.0 from top U.S. undergrad business school (think Haas, Ross, Sloan)
GMAT 1: 710 (Q49, V38, 6IR, 6.0AWA)
GMAT 2: 760 (Q48, V47, 6IR, AWA TBD)
Work Experience:
One internship as a summer analyst at a top boutique investment bank. Returning full time on two-year contract.
One internship as a strategy summer analyst at top real estate developer.
Extracurricular:
Vice President of Finance for business school Student Government
Co-President of undergraduate investment club
I am applying to HBS 2+2 and Stanford GSB Deferred programs but think that my status as a prototypical finance applicant may hurt. Also, my quant score took a slight drop on my second GMAT (was expecting to get Q49 at minimum).
Is there anything I should try to do in the next few weeks to separate myself? I am looking to go into social venture capital post-MBA.
Thanks in advance for all of the help! Much appreciated.
