Hi,
I would like to apply to the Harvard 2+2 program but need advise on how to further build up my resume so as to stand a good chance. I am from India.
My present profile:
1) AIEEE 2011 rank 512 (out of 1 million+ students). Got IIT rank 4496, gave it again next year (while in college) and got rank 1692 but chose to stay in IIIT Hydrabad only
2) College CGPA-> 8.5/10 ( Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad)
3) GMAT score - 770
4) Was one of the three main coordinators for my college fest and led the student body comprising of over 200+ members.(I was responsible for sponsorship, marketing and managing the budget for the fest. We secured a sponsorship of Rs20 Lakhs and our fest was visited by 5000+ people over 3 days.).
5) Have been a regular part of student governing bodies in college and school. Was the vice-head boy in School and am now a part of the Parliament and other bodies in college.
6) Have finished the Airtel Hyderabad Half marathon (21.1km) twice now.
7) Was a finalist in the I lead India contest, Hyderabad round (a youth social leadership program organized by the times of India)
8) Did a summer internship with Groupon India for three months.
I am presently in 4th year and will pass out in 2015. I am planning to apply to Harvard, Stanford and Yale (because of their deferred admissions programs) and wanted to know about my chances when compared to the general pool. Also, how would professional guidance help me better my chances of getting selected. .
Any help would be much appreciated.

From the information provided, I believe you would be a viable and credible applicant to the programs you mention. That said, they’re highly competitive, so you’ll need to turn in outstanding applications.
A couple of special factors for the early programs:
- You must demonstrate in your application that although you are young and even with deferred entry will have relatively less experience, you will contribute fully and equally to your more experienced classmate.
- You have a clear purpose for the MBA and are making an informed decision about pursuing it, even though you haven’t had significant professional experience or exposure yet.
Navigating these two points is one thing that a consultant can help with – also they will understand your competition and will now how to help you stand out and shine among them.
