Ashish, the thing is that I’ve already applied for r1 as I thought I’ll have a better chance.
Do you reckon I have a good chance if I’m able to do a good interview ? And will I get an interview call in the first place ?
ok ok...now we can just wait...and hope.

All the best Sudher_Srinivas !

Hi, MBAandBeyond!

Thank you for your feedback. It looks pretty positive. Point noted on crafting all of this well enough for the AdComs and defining my goals.

MBAandBeyond
heisenberg1010
Hi everyone!

Just want to know, what are my chances of getting into ISB?

Academics and tests
1. 10th - 94.3%
2. 12th - 92.8% (gold medallist in school)
3. B.E. - 8.43 CGPA
4. GRE - 324 (Quant - 170, Verbal - 154)

Work experience (4 years until now)
1. I was at an NASDAQ listed software company for 1.5 years as an engineer (6 months of internship during my final year of B.E., and 1 year as an FTE), where I worked with some big international customers (was the highest paying job in college and was the only one to get selected)

2. Currently, I work in the family business which is into technology products and services. I started off as a generalist, dabbling in all departments right from supply chain to tech to support. For the past year, I've been on the management team and overlook sales, marketing, and ops (for big projects). Some notable achievements -

  • I've led some of our company's biggest projects, ensuring on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction
  • Part of the core team that built two tech products
  • Responsible for bringing in most of our enterprise customers in areas like renewable energy, logistics, and new-age companies
  • Directly brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales

Extracurriculars
1. I'm the co-founder of two foundations - one of them is community upliftment focused through which we do events/activities like blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, etc. The other one is cultural and we organize festivals on a large scale.
2. I'm also part of a startup community as well where I've contributed a lot.

Why I want to do MBA?
I've been in the family business since pretty early in my career. I've learnt and done things mostly in the realms of the business, while bringing in some of my own ideas. I feel like I'm stagnating and want to kick things up a notch and break into uncharted waters. And, being part of different groups and working & interacting with people from different industries/backgrounds showed me how much I don't know. I want to get exposed, unlearn, and learn again. I eventually want to come back to entrepreneurship and the business.
Hey, heisenberg1010

Your profile is really impressive! You’ve got a great mix of strong academics, diverse work experiences, and meaningful extracurriculars. The leadership roles you’ve taken on in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings, along with your commitment to community service, show the qualities that ISB values in its students. It’s great that you’ve provided solid reasons and explained why you want to pursue an MBA, which is truly impressive. Just make sure you craft an impactful application that will impress the AdComs.

By clearly defining your goals, you can create a solid link between your current background, the skills you’ll gain at ISB, and how they will help you reach your short-term and long-term aspirations. This clarity will really enhance your application, showing that you have a thoughtful plan for your future career path.

Could i plz have a profile evaluation, for my chances at ISB, and what other top schools can be considered.
Sudher_Srinivas

Your profile reflects an impressive mix of academic success, professional experience, and extracurricular activities, making you a strong candidate. If you’ve applied for ISB’s Round 1, your GMAT score of 655 is decent. That said, I’d recommend retaking the GMAT to aim for a score between 665 and 675 when applying to other schools in Round 2, as it could further strengthen your application.

We would love to chat and review your profile in detail.

Hello adwaid,

If you feel like you have the potential to improve your GMAT score, we see no harm in retaking the test; a better score will only help improve your chances further.

Having said the above, if you are aiming for the R1 deadline, it is a bit late in the day to add extra-curricular activities; instead, the focus should be to keep working on and doing better at what you are already doing - professionally and otherwise. Consolidating everything into a set of well-written essays makes more sense at this point.

Good luck!

Hello Adwaid,

Adwaid, your profile present a strong and well-rounded candidacy for ISB’s Round 1. With a solid academic record, graduating with an 8.75 CGPA from NIT Calicut and achieving 98.5% in the 12th standard demonstrates strong academic consistency. GMAT Focus Edition score of 675 (96th percentile overall, 99th in Quantitative, and 98th in Data Insights) positions you better, especially considering your strong quantitative foundation, which is highly valued for management, consulting, and analytical roles.

Your professional experience further strengthens your profile. With close to three years of supply chain exposure across international and regional roles at Landmark Group, you have developed end-to-end operational expertise. Your internal transfer from a warehouse position in Jeddah to an Imports Supply Chain Executive role at the group headquarters in Dubai highlights upward mobility and adaptability. Additionally, your leadership is evident from managing a 24-member team during the Red Sea crisis, driving results under high pressure. This impactful experience adds significant weight to the application, showcasing both operational excellence and managerial potential.

Overall, your profile is currently competitive for ISB, especially for supply-chain or operations-focused roles post-MBA.

Hope it helps!

Best

Dear adwaid,

Thank you for providing a detailed overview of your profile. One glance through it shows that you bring together several strong elements.

You have excellent academics and a very competitive GMAT score, well above the median of past ISB admits. Your diversified work experience, especially coming from a non-IT background, adds a distinct edge. The internal transfer from a warehouse role to a headquarters-level role shows initiative and upward mobility, and your leadership experience managing a 24-member team during a crisis makes for a powerful story. There is clear potential to craft a compelling narrative that demonstrates impact, leadership, and career progression.

Your goals also appear to be a natural extension of your current experience, and with the right framing, it should be possible to logically convey how ISB can serve as a strong enabler in achieving them.

One area where we see scope to strengthen further is extracurriculars. That said, it is clear you are already taking steps in that direction—starting a blog and having past experience tutoring students are positive indicators. What will matter is how effectively you are able to tie these experiences to your personal motivations and extract meaningful reflections or learnings from them.

We would be happy to connect and explore how to most impactfully position your profile, and how the MBA journey can be aligned to your aspirations. We are committed to making our support both thoughtful and outcome driven, with offerings that reflect that commitment in structure and spirit.

At Team FLY, we are a collective of ISB alumni dedicated to supporting prospective MBA applicants with profile positioning, essay reviews and interview preparation.

Please feel free to book a 15 minute free session for a detailed discussion with us: https://calendly.com/reachusfly/15min

With warm regards,
Team FLY
