Hi,
I am looking to get into MSF (master of finance) instead of MBA since I am in my last year of undergrad and have no full-time working experience. I have a list of schools that I really want to get into, please evaluate my profile and suggest my chances of getting in or suggest any other school I should apply.
Personal Background: from China, female, will be still under 21 years old before I go to MSF for Fall 2013 (not sure if that's a good thing or bad..)
GMAT - 700 (Q48/V38)
Undergrad: top 60 US college with 3.6 GPA in business major
Internship Experiences:
Investment Intern at a securities firm in China that offer consulting services
Finance Intern at a non-profit in the US, duties included both financial analysis and accounting transactions
Also opened an online store in China before (similar to the stores on Ebay) and worked part-time in the computer lab on-campus
Extracurricular:
Received a scholarship for a politics-related summer study program in Washington DC
Leadership experience in a business organization in my school
Lots of volunteers and academic-related activities (business mentor program, experiments, and etc.)
Target:
the MSF program at WUSTL, Vanderbilt, UT-Austin, Rochester
also considering Yale Silver Scholars Program (MBA for college seniors)
Goals:
Start as a financial analyst (I personally enjoy the corporate finance area more than the investment area) and eventually become a finance manager
Really appreciate for your help and any suggestions for my school choices and career path.
